How It Works

Fluid flows through one or two vibrating tubes. As mass moves along the tube, Coriolis forces twist it slightly, creating a phase shift between the inlet and outlet motion. That phase shift is directly proportional to mass flow.

The same oscillation also reveals the tube's natural frequency, which changes with fluid density — so one instrument gives mass flow, density and temperature simultaneously.
