How It Works

A bluff body in the flow sheds alternating vortices (the von Karman street). The shedding frequency is proportional to velocity, and a piezo sensor behind the body detects each vortex as a pressure pulse.

With optional temperature and pressure inputs, the converter converts volumetric flow into mass flow and energy, which is what steam accounting actually needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my steam total lower than the boiler output?

Usually condensate or wet steam at the meter, or insufficient straight run. Dry saturated steam needs 15D upstream; wet steam should be separated first.

Can it be installed outdoors?

Yes, IP67 with a sunshade. For freezing climates specify the heated enclosure option.

Does the battery version log?

Battery units log hourly totals for up to 5 years and can be read locally or via NB-IoT.
